Just like Roku is known as the leading streaming company in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, Hsinchu has made a name for itself as Silicon Valley of Taiwan. Like the potential we see in the streaming industry, we aim to set up an R&D center in Taiwan.
A few steps from the HSR, our Hsinchu office is surrounded by the three important parks in the city - Hsinchu Science Park, Biomedical Science Park and Taiyuen Hi-Tech Industrial Park. In addition to hundreds of tech companies that call Hsinchu home, the city has two top STEM schools, National Chiao Tung University and National Tsing Hua University.
This enables us to work closely with several key System-on-Chip (SoC) partners in town and constantly reinvent Roku products with cutting-the-edge technologies. We enjoy getting our hands dirty and reimagine the best living room – or home theater scenario.
As we believe that sharing is caring, besides a cozy pantry with free coffee, milk and unlimited snacks, we also host regular Tech Talk for new technology or diverse topics sharing while also providing “afternoon tea” to increase the overall team bonding every Thursday.
