About the role 

We’re looking for a highly motivated Visual Designer to join our in-house Design team within the Brand, Creative and Social organization. You are a designer who is proactive and not afraid to ask questions and go the extra mile. You can multi-task and handle executing designs across multiple formats, as well as collaborate on larger design initiatives. You are capable of developing creative concepts and giving art direction to tentpole events and campaigns for Roku.

The position will report to the Design Director, Advertising and is based in New York.

For New York Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $95,000 and $129,000 annually.

Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

What you’ll be doing 

• Execute designs across a variety of digital and print materials, including, but not limited to social, display, web, presentation mocks, event signage, white papers, and large print formats.
• Develop creative concepts and provide art direction for Roku Advertising tentpole events and campaigns.
• Storyboard motion graphics for videos and communicate direction for motion designers and editors.
• Prepare all files as necessary for print, digital and on-device.
• Be a champion for the Roku Advertising visual brand throughout the company. Create consistency within the brand by adhering to guidelines and templates as needed.

We’re excited if you have 

• 3-5 years of experience designing for in-house or agency teams, preferably in media, entertainment, or advertising.
• An online portfolio demonstrating experience in designing 360 campaigns across a variety of platforms, mediums, and formats. A strong grasp of design for B2B audiences, data visualization/information design, branding, typography, hierarchy, and composition.
• The ability to work within brand guidelines and develop creative concepts within existing guidelines.
• Comfortable working with cross-functional partners and high-level executives across sales, marketing, and event teams.
• Strong communication and time management skills. Comfortable using a project management tool such as Asana to self-manage workload and manage expectations with timing and delivery.
• Must possess a strong Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign skillset.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to learn new skills and design programs as needed.
• Experience with presentation design (PowerPoint), web design (Figma), motion graphics (AfterEffects), and/or video editing (Premiere Pro) are a plus.
