About The Team

Our team is Roku’s competence center for Audio Software. We’re doing this for all Roku products, i.e., Roku TVs, Roku Audio products, Roku Streaming players, Roku IOT products and expanding into future product categories. As Sr. Software Engineer in Audio, you will join an experienced team used to delivering awesome features and products for Roku.

About The Role

We are looking for a talented engineer to join our Audio SW Team! You will be responsible for audio pipeline configurability, chip vendor interaction for audio porting, Roku OS feature development, code maintenance, design scalability solutions and define processes to help bring Roku Audio solutions to all our partners. To succeed in this challenging role, the following expertise is strongly preferred.

What you'll be doing

Develop software that runs on millions of devices in the Roku OS ecosystem.
Design and develop Audio features that are fast, efficient and a joy for users.

Collaborate with external suppliers of the SoC’s which are used in Roku products.

Collaborate with other Roku teams throughout the software development life cycle.

Implement features with the abstractions necessary to run on a variety of hardware.

Design for performance and ensure that your code is fast and resource efficient.

Demonstrate the ability to dig-deep to find solutions to tough problems affecting our users.

Promote coding conventions and standards for code re-usability and cleanliness.
Conduct code reviews for improved code quality and optimization
Working on Embedded Linux environments
Working on multi-threaded development and concurrency management

We're Excited If You Have

Extensive years of relevant software development experience

Extensive years C/C++ coding experience

System-on-a-chip (SoC) development and integration preferred

Experience developing/debugging on Linux-based embedded platforms

Good understanding of Linux kernel concepts, Multi-threading primitives, Linux tools, libraries, and open-source development

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant fields

Ability to excel working in a fast-paced engineering environment

Have an ability to communicate with candor and effectiveness

Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
