About the team

We are the New Product Introduction team responsible for introducing new Roku TVs to the market. We work on everything required to bring a new product to market from concept phase to mass production. We work with vendors and channel partners along with various teams within Roku to make sure we can bring high quality products to our customers.

About the role

As an Embedded SW QA Manager at Roku, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of experienced automation engineers. You will play a critical role in shaping the automation strategy, driving efficiency, and ensuring high-quality software releases. What you will be doing

Hire, mentor, and manage a high-performance team, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Architect and implement robust, scalable automation frameworks tailored for TV OS testing, ensuring seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines.
Defining test automation strategy by establishing best practices for automation testing, balancing test coverage, execution speed, and reliability.
Work closely with software developers, QA engineers, and product managers to align automation efforts with business and technical objectives.
Identify bottlenecks, enhance automation pipelines, and introduce cutting-edge tools and methodologies to accelerate product delivery.

We’re excited if you have

8+ years of experience in designing and implementing scalable automation frameworks for embedded systems, smart TV platforms, or consumer electronics.
3+ years working as a manager or similar role with experience in hiring, mentoring, and managing automation engineers, including setting goals and defining team processes.
Expertise in UI, API, and system-level test automation for TV OS or similar platforms. Proficiency in Python.
Experience integrating automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
Knowledge of software development best practices, version control (Git), and debugging techniques.
Ability to drive root cause analysis (RCA) and improve defect detection through automation.
Hands-on experience developing automation and testing smart TV applications, embedded systems, or streaming platforms is a plus.
Exposure to Machine Learning or AI-driven test automation for smart TV platforms is a plus.
Bachelor’s and/or master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
