About the team

Our team’s mission is to build Roku’s IOT devices, which complement our TV solutions. We do this in close cooperation with ODM’s and ensure the products fulfil Roku’s desire to launch high quality products at an attractive price point.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HW Program Manager to lead the development and launch of cutting-edge IoT and smart home products (e.g., security cameras, smart doorbells, lighting, and connected devices). You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including hardware/software engineers, QA, product managers, and global manufacturing partners—to ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

What you will be doing

Own end-to-end program execution for IoT/smart home devices, from concept to mass production.
Manage program schedules, risks, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Collaborate with ODMs/JDMs/CMs to optimize manufacturing processes, cost, and scalability.
Drive IoT-specific development challenges, such as wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee), power management, firmware/cloud integration, and regulatory certifications (FCC, UL ,CE).
Lead cross-functional teams across geographies (US, EU, Asia, etc.) to resolve technical and supply chain issues.
Communicate program status to executives and stakeholders, escalating critical issues as needed.
Ensure seamless integration between hardware, firmware, cloud services, and mobile apps.
Support DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) reviews with engineering and suppliers.
Travel (~4–6 times/year) to manufacturing sites in Asia or other locations for build support.

We're excited if you have

10+ years of program/project management in consumer electronics, IoT, or smart home products.
Strong technical background in hardware development (PCBA, sensors, RF/wireless technologies) and embedded software/firmware.
Proven experience in high-volume manufacturing with ODMs/JDMs/CMs (preferably in IoT devices).
Expertise in IoT product lifecycle—prototyping, certification, reliability testing, and mass production.
Familiarity with IoT ecosystems and cloud connectivity.
Proficient in Microsoft Project, JIRA, Agile PLM, or Propel for schedule and issue tracking.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Fluent in English.
Essential Skills:
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management (both technical and non-technical audiences).
- Strong problem-solving skills for IoT-specific challenges (e.g., connectivity, OTA updates, security).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment with competing priorities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality, cost, and timeline trade-offs
