About the role

The Director of Logistics will own and optimize the global movement of inventory across our global supply chain, ensuring product availability and seamless on-time delivery to retail partners and consumers through a best-in-class logistics network, trade compliance, and supplier partnerships. This role requires an exceptional operator with deep expertise in global logistics, transportation, warehousing, and last-mile delivery. This role has direct responsibility for international & domestic transportation, warehousing & distribution, trade compliance, and reverse logistics reporting into the Head of Operations. 

 

What you'll be doing

Logistics & Supply Chain Strategy 

  • Assess capabilities of current and potential logistics service providers, evaluating capacity, service levels, cost structures, and risk factors.
  • Benchmark industry cost trends to drive negotiations and service level improvements.
  • Design and implement a high-performance logistics network to optimize cost, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Lead end-to-end supply chain execution for global and domestic logistics, warehousing, transportation, and last-mile distribution.
  • Develop and execute scalable logistics strategies aligned with Roku’s rapid growth and evolving business needs.
  • Identify supply chain risks in both forward and reverse logistics, developing strategies to mitigate disruptions and improve predictability.
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives while ensuring efficient international and domestic transportation, warehousing, and last-mile delivery.
  • Identify and implement automation, AI-driven forecasting, and digital solutions to enhance supply chain visibility.

 

Operational Excellence & Cost Optimization 

  • Continuously benchmark logistics costs and performance against industry leaders to drive best-in-class execution.
  • Implement data-driven decision-making using real-time analytics, dashboards, KPI tracking, and process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Reduce transit times and improve inventory availability by optimizing routing, consolidations, and distribution models.
  • Partner with supply planning and fulfillment teams to enhance inventory accuracy and demand forecasting.
  • Drive reverse logistics efficiencies, optimizing product returns, refurbishments, and liquidation strategies.
  • Oversee customer returns and distressed asset management, optimizing recovery and disposition processes.
  • Implement value-added services within the logistics network to enhance customer satisfaction and efficiency.

 

Logistics Provider & Trade Compliance Management 

  • Oversee carrier selection, 3PL partnerships, and service provider negotiations to ensure cost-competitive, high-quality logistics solutions working with the Procurement Team.
  • Develop and manage trade compliance programs ensuring adherence to global import/export regulations and country-specific requirements.
  • Discover and develop outsourced service providers to create customer-focused logistics solutions.
  • Work with cross-functionally with Procurement to negotiate and optimize logistics contracts, balancing price and service quality.
  • Oversee trade compliance, ensuring Roku’s import/export operations meet regulatory requirements.
  • Lead Restricted Party Screening (RPS) and implement customs compliance best practices to mitigate legal and financial risks.

 

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Build and mentor a high-performing logistics team, fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to align logistics strategies with Roku’s broader business objectives.
  • Partner with IT and data analytics teams to deploy real-time tracking and automation tools to improve logistics visibility.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, providing data-driven insights and transparency into logistics network operations.
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

 

We're excited it you have

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 15+ years of progressive logistics and supply chain leadership experience in consumer electronics, e-commerce, retail, or technology industries.
  • Proven experience leading global logistics networks, 3PL partnerships, and multimodal transportation (air, ocean, ground).

 

Technical & Operational Expertise 

  • Strong command of logistics automation, AI-driven forecasting, and end-to-end visibility platforms.
  • Expertise in customs regulations, trade compliance, and international shipping requirements.
  • Deep understanding of warehouse automation, inventory control, and fulfillment center optimization.
  • Knowledge of contract negotiations, supplier risk management, and cost-optimization strategies.
  • Proven ability to proactively identify and manage supply chain risks.

  • Hands-on, results-driven leader with a track record of delivering operational efficiency and cost savings.
  • Highly collaborative and transparent, with strong influencing skills across cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
