About the role

This role will have 70% supplier quality roles +30% of the environmental Compliance role, Roku Product Quality is seeking an Environmental compliance & Supplier Quality Engineer to support our products launch to meet global environmental regulations and supplier quality across our Asia supply chain.

As an Individual Contributor (IC) in the Product Quality team, supplier quality role you will need to work with Hardware Engineering, Sourcing, and Program Management to select new suppliers, Perform audits and qualify supplier facilities, processes & products, and support ongoing production Quality

As part of Environmental Compliance role is to ensure Roku’s product is in compliance with all relevant environmental regulations for the regions (US, EU, MX, Brazil, CA etc.) we launching our products to meet legal obligations, this required you have a deep understanding of world wider Compliance regulations ( ie. Proposition 65, TSCA, TCLP, TPCH, ROHS, WEEE, REACH etc.) 

What you will be doing

• Supplier Quality role 70%
  • Perform quality process and technical assessments of new developed manufacturers.
  • Qualify manufacturing facilities, processes, and products through the Roku product part approval process (PPAP).
  • Drive continuous improvement of manufacturers based on supplier assessment results, quality performance, technical support, and delivery.
  • Review and approve corrective actions for the adequacy of root cause identification and corrective actions using the 8D process.
  • Manage First Article Inspection (FAI) process for Roku products launch during each build.
  • Drive the use of statistical tools and methods within supplier facilities including statistical process control, capability analysis, gage repeatability & reproducibility, and design of experiments.
  • Manage and maintain RBA social responsibility status across different CM & suppliers
    
• Environmental Compliance role 30%
  • Develop Environmental Compliances request for new projects to ensure compliance with local, federal and word-wide environmental regulations (Proposition 65, TSCA, TCLP, TPCH, ROHS, WEEE, REACH etc.)
  • Manage environmental compliances test reports for each NPI project and maintain for mass production. 
  • Work with third party lab to get best refined coverage with best price but ensure compliances covered. 
  • Develop and implement environmental policies to ensure company-wide compliance
  • Prepare environmental permits, licenses, and related documents prior to products launch (WERCS etc.)
  • Monitor environmental performance and report on any issues and solve the problems. 
  • Stay updated on new regulations and industry practices
  • Manage E-waste and pollution controls with external channels

We're excited if you have

• A BS (or higher) degree in Chemical, Electric and Mechanical Engineering, or other applicable engineering discipline. Proven experience as an Environmental Compliance Engineer or similar role
• Detailed understanding of local, state, federal and world-wide environmental regulation, Understanding of US environmental EPA standard. 
• 5+ year’s experience in supplier and manufacturing Quality, With 2+ years of Environmental compliance experiences is a plus.
• Experience performing supplier assessments for quality systems, process control, and technical capabilities. Familiar with PPAP process
• Statistical analysis knowledge in statistical process control, capability analysis, gage repeatability & reproducibility, and design of experiments using Minitab or similar tools.
• Industry experience in Television manufacturing, Consumer Electronics, Personal Computing, and/or IOT.
• Experience with Atlassian Confluence and JIRA Ability and able to travel domestically and internationally 25 - 50%.
• A strong sense of team integrity and dedication to ethical business practices.
• Capable of driving in depth technical discussions on various technologies and trends in the electronics industry.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including English, with a strong sense of professionalism.
• Highly collaborative by nature; transparent and open-minded.
